What’s included in this course package?
This package includes 3 consecutive days of tutor-led group learning in our Virtual Classrooms plus two online courses for you to work through at your leisure. The courses included are:
- Teach the Teacher Course for Doctors – 2 days – 12 CPD points
- Teach the Teacher Mentoring Skills for Doctors – 1 day – 6 CPD points
- Teach the Teacher Online Course – 120 days access to materials – 3 CPD points
- Mentoring Skills for Doctors Online Course – 120 days access to materials – 3 CPD points
You gain one certificate for 18 CPD points for your participation on the 3 day course plus an additional 3 CPD points for each of the two online courses. So, that’s 24 point in total which you can use as evidence of your training.
Is this the best course for me?
This is our most comprehensive package in our Medical Teaching category. We’ve designed it to enable you to explore the world of medical education in both breadth and depth. It’s the best option if you want to give your skills a major upgrade, need evidence for your appraisal, or to give your CV a boost and stand out from the crowd for a training post application.
We typically have a diverse range of participants. This can include a variety of grades from FY1s to Consultants, as well as doctors from different specialties, backgrounds and geographic locations. Such diversity helps us to create a rich learning community where everyone benefits. So, whether you are a novice interested in getting started, or have a great deal of experience and looking for a refresh, we ensure that everyone has the opportunity to participate, contribute and learn.

What should I expect from the Virtual Classroom days?
You can join our Virtual Classroom from any location where you have a good internet connection. We recommend choosing a location where you can be settled and know you will be able to concentrate without disruption. So that can be anywhere from your living room at home to an office at work. We recommend using a desktop, laptop or tablet as your device for the best experience. (A mobile phone is too small for a course of this length).
The first two days run as our regular Teach the Teacher Course for Doctors. Your tutor leads you to interactively explore theories of adult education. This includes what we all have in common in terms of learning and how we are all different. We then consider how to utilise these ideas to plan effective teaching for groups of different sizes. But this is much more than just a theoretical course. We give you the opportunity to deliver teaching sessions which you prepare during the course to your fellow delegates . This gives you direct experiences followed by constructive feedback discussions facilitated by your tutor to optimise your learning.
On the third day, you participate in our Mentoring Skills Course for Doctors. Here, we turn our attention to the range of skills you required to help individuals fulfill their potential. We explore what it means to be a mentor. We are focused on your ability to support other doctors to grow in terms of skills, attitude and behaviour. Once again, your tutor takes an interactive approach balancing theory with discussion and opportunities for you to practice your skills.
What about the additional online courses?
When you book your 3 day course, we provide you with two popular online courses for you to work through at your own pace.
Your Teach the Teacher Online Course guides you through the process of creating and evaluating a teaching session. The Mentoring Skills Online Course for Doctors again focuses specifically on your abilities in leading individuals to develop expertise. Both courses include a mix of videos and text plus exercises for planning and reflection. We’ve designed these to ensure you have a rich and engaging learning experience.
You have 120 days of access to these courses from the date you book your Extended Teach the Teacher Course and can revisit the material as often as you like within that time. The final module of each course includes an exercise to complete a reflective learning statement. When you send this to us, we provide you with your CPD certificate which you can again use as evidence of training.
How do I book my space?
To book you space, simply choose the date that works best for you from the list above and add it to your basket. At the checkout stage, you have a range of payment options to choose from. When payment is complete, we send you confirmation emails with information with joining instructions and how to access the online courses.
