Course Description
Two-day Teach the Teacher course outline
On Day One of the Teach the Teacher course we explore formal teaching theories, principles and teaching tools. The small-group format, with no more than 18 people on each course, keeps the course interactive. Your tutor, from our expert teaching faculty, supports you through 1-to-1 teaching sessions and then a small group tutorial, building your confidence and applying learning theory. On day two you work as part of a small team to prepare and deliver a larger teaching session to the rest of the group. The different approaches required for each of these situations are discussed in depth, using methods designed to meet your individual requirements.
Supporting materials
In keeping with the principles which we share with you on the course, we continue to supporting your learning long after the event. Every delegate on the Teach the Teacher course receives a copy of Teaching Skills for Doctors, our popular 120 page guide book (retail price £49.99). We use this to support your learning at the course and it provides you with a valuable resource for future reference. In addition, we send you a series of Top Tips for Great Teaching Practice by email during the weeks and months after the event. Each Top Tip email includes a link to a short 3 minute reminder of some of the courses key messages. You can therefore read these anywhere you have an internet connection, so you are supported long after the event.
