Organisational efficiency can improve. Changes to clinicians’ levels of confidence, performance and satisfaction are also observed. Numerous reports and Good Medical Practice therefore make it clear that Continued Professional Development related to communication, partnerships and trust is essential. In response, we have created this one-hour, interactive e-learning course for doctors.
What will I learn?
Whether you see yourself as a team leader, team member or partner in a group of doctors this short course will challenge your thinking. We will explore the psychology related to commitment to teams, how teams develop, what members require and what gets in the way. You will regularly be prompted to consider your current circumstances in order to identify actions to make improvements.
What is the format?
Healthy Teams in Healthcare is a one-hour interactive online course. We support your learning via a mix of text, infographics, videos and questionnaires.
First introduced to various models related to the development, function and dysfunction of teams. You explore various aspects of these models, clarifying how issues arise and actions to help avoid or resolve such challenges. Next, you complete the ‘Healthy Team Member Self Assessment‘. This short questionnaire encourages you to consider the various strengths and shortfalls within your current team(s). Finally you complete and submit a reflective learning statement. Through this process you identify where you need to focus your attention, along with actions to improve for the benefit of all concerned.
Submitting the reflective learning statement to Oxford Medical Training is a requirement for awarding your CPD certificate. We will forward your certificate within 10 working days of receiving the completed statement. If you require your it urgently for any reason then please contact us and we will arrange this for you. Your certificate will clearly state:
- Your name
- completed ‘Healthy teams in Healthcare online distance learning course’
- The date you completed your Reflective Learning Statement
- Accredited for 1 CPD point
Sharing and discussing the results with your colleagues could prove to be the first steps to significant progress in your leadership, or to your team’s development.
